Adult mapping — what to expect at each visit
Adult mapping sessions involve listening to test tones, indicating loudness, providing feedback on speech clarity, and discussing any device or comfort issues.
A typical adult mapping visit (45–90 min): impedance and integrity test, threshold (T) and comfort (C) level setting per electrode, listening checks with everyday speech, fine-tuning of program names and accessories, and goal-setting for the next interval.
Between sessions, keep a brief diary of any consistent issues — restaurant noise, certain voices, music — to share with the audiologist.
