ASSR test — frequency-specific hearing diagnosis
ASSR (Auditory Steady State Response) provides frequency-specific hearing threshold estimates in young children too small for behavioural audiometry.
ASSR uses continuous modulated tones to estimate hearing thresholds across multiple frequencies. Together with BERA it gives a complete audiometric picture before behavioural testing is possible.
Results are used to programme hearing aids, monitor progress, and inform CI candidacy decisions for infants and toddlers.
