Bluetooth connectivity in cochlear implants

Modern CI processors stream phone calls, music and audio directly from Bluetooth-enabled devices. Newer processors support Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast.

Direct streaming dramatically improves clarity for phone calls, video calls, audiobooks, TV (with TV streamer) and music — because the signal bypasses room noise. Compatibility lists vary by manufacturer and processor model; check the manufacturer's compatibility page before pairing. Bluetooth LE Audio promises lower latency, higher quality and Auracast broadcast in public venues — a major future-friendly capability now appearing in newer processors.
