Hair management and surgical scar after CI
Modern CI incisions are small and well concealed behind or above the ear. Hair around the site may be trimmed but full shaving is rarely needed.
Surgical approach varies by surgeon but minimal-incision techniques are standard in modern paediatric and adult CI. The scar usually fades within months and is hidden under hair. Many users report it is barely visible after the first year.
Avoid hair colour or chemical treatments for 4–6 weeks post-op to prevent wound irritation.
