CI surgery — anaesthesia and pain control
CI surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. Post-operative pain is typically mild and managed with standard analgesics.
The surgical team includes the ENT surgeon, anaesthetist and operating room nurses. Surgery is monitored carefully throughout. Most patients wake up within 30–60 minutes of completion and have minimal pain — controlled with oral analgesics for a few days post-op.
Nausea is the more common immediate complaint and is managed with anti-emetics. Most patients eat and walk the same evening or the next morning.
