Home exercises for parents after paediatric CI

Daily 'auditory sandwich' practice, Ling-6 sound checks, picture-book reading and music-and-movement routines build listening and language at home.

Practical daily routines: • Morning Ling-6 sound check (a, oo, ee, sh, s, m) — confirms processor is working. • Narrate everyday activities ('We are washing the green plate now'). • Picture-book reading 10–15 minutes, label and discuss. • Music and rhymes — predictable patterns build phonological awareness. • Wait time — pause and give the child time to respond before re-prompting. Quality and consistency matter more than session length.
