Music training after cochlear implant
Structured music-listening exercises significantly improve music enjoyment for CI users — from rhythm games to pitch discrimination to song-with-lyrics tracking.
Practical music training:
• Start with familiar songs the user knew before CI.
• Use lyrics on screen alongside listening.
• Begin with solo voice + simple accompaniment; progress to full orchestrations.
• Practice pitch discrimination with two-note exercises.
• Use streaming (direct Bluetooth) so the signal is clean.
For children, music is also a powerful language-acquisition tool — rhymes, songs, action games.
