Myths & FAQs

Myth: CI requires lifelong hospital visits

Reality — after the intensive first year, CI follow-up is annual or as-needed. Many sessions can now be done via remote tele-mapping.

First year: more frequent visits — switch-on, mapping (4–8 sessions), audiology and therapy follow-up. Years 2+: annual mapping and audiometric review; ad-hoc visits for any device issue. Remote care platforms (manufacturer apps + tele-mapping) reduce the need to travel for routine follow-up.
