School support and inclusion for CI children
Mainstream school inclusion for CI children needs three things: teacher orientation, classroom acoustics, and assistive devices (FM/Roger) when needed.
Teacher orientation tips:
• Show how the CI works, what processor care looks like.
• Discuss seating (front-centre, away from noisy fans/AC).
• Use of FM / Roger systems — teacher wears a microphone that streams to the child's processor.
• What to do if the processor stops working — basic troubleshooting and a spare.
• Watch for fatigue and provide quiet listening breaks.
