Waterproof options for cochlear implant users
Manufacturers offer water-safe accessories (e.g. Aqua+ for Cochlear, waterproof variants for AB and MED-EL) that let CI users swim, shower and play in water.
Each manufacturer specifies water-safety standards (e.g. IP68) and depth/time limits. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. Keep the regular processor dry; use the waterproof accessory specifically for water activities.
After water use, rinse the accessory in fresh water and dry per the manufacturer's instructions.
